FreshLeaves Agro Solutions, with over a year of experience, has successfully cultivated numerous batches of microgreens. These young seedlings of edible vegetables and herbs offer a quick harvest, ready to be enjoyed within a week to 10 days after the cotyledon leaves have developed.
The package includes 50 gm of non-treated, open-pollinated Sunflower seeds known for their high germination rates.
Here is the step-by-step procedure for growing microgreens:
1. Prepare two identical trays, which can be plastic plates, microgreen trays, or planter saucers.
2. Take a spoonful of seeds and set them aside in a bowl and soak for 12 hours.
3. Fill one tray with washed cocopeat, leveling the surface.
4. Sprinkle the seeds evenly on the cocopeat surface, covering 70-80% of the area and avoiding overlap.
5. Spray the seeds with clean water.
6. Cover the seeds with the second tray, ensuring the base touches the seeds.
7. Place 500-600 gm of weights on the tray to create a conducive environment for seed and root development.
8. After 2-3 days, remove the tray, invert it to create a dome-like structure over the grown shoots.
9. Mist the seeds tray daily for the first 3-4 days.
10. Once the shoots touch the dome tray, place that tray beneath the tray with cocopeat, leaving space using pebbles, and fill the bottom tray with water.
11. Position the trays in sunlight or a well-lit place for microgreens to grow.
12. Replace the water in the bottom tray at least once a day to prevent rotting.
13. Microgreens will be ready in 8-10 days. FreshLeaves Agro Solutions offers free growing assistance to all growers, encouraging them to reach out in case of any issues.
